Asteria - Faceted graphinite and silver necklace

This necklace is adorned with a superb drop of faceted graphinite , a stone newly discovered in southern India . It is surrounded by its silver case made entirely by hand, in order to make the most of the properties of the stone.

In Greek mythology , Asteria is the personification of the starry night . She is the wife of the titan Perses and mother of the very popular Hecate . Her attributes would be the lyre and the laurel wreath.

Graphinite , also called gray aventurine with graphite inclusions or black sunstone , is a variety of quartz . It is a stone of abundance and independence that aids in emotional healing .
